I woke up to this view from my front door:
Believe it or not there is a mountain behind that grey sky! I live in British Columbia, Canada which is just one of the most beautiful places on earth, but I have to say that January is not the most inspiring month unless you are an avid winter sports person and your view is from the top of the mountain. My current position being at the bottom of the mountain, I turn away from the door and start thinking about Spring again.
Last night I thought I would start the search for my Spring print online. I must confess, I am not a big fan of searching for fabric online. I think so much of the experience is lost when you can't see the actual colors, or feel the weight and hand of the fabric. In the spirit of browsing, I first referred to the online fabric store list over at Sewaholic and spent some time at each of the shops.
I didn't have much luck finding the perfect print but I did come across Amy Butler's new Rayon Challis Prints. Her prints are always beautiful and this one is the closest I could find to my color palette.

But alas, I consequently saw this fabric on many of the other fabric sites and see that this may not be a true representation of the actual colors. I am also not sure if this is the look I want to achieve. Although beautiful, it seems a bit home decor-ish and it's not really me. So off I go to a fabric store, carrying my miniature version of my color story board, where I can see and touch the fabric.
