Spring 2012 - Styling
Read more →While searching through the old pattern box, I came across this lovely vintage pattern dated 1958. I am thinking this might make a perfectly sweet summer dress. I may need to adjust the amount of gathering, especially at the back bodice, but I'm kind of in love with it. What do you think? I also came across this one, dated 1973. Spring 2012 - Fabric
Read more →Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Valentine's Day always signals the imminence of Spring for me. Spring 2012-Print Search
Read more →I woke up to this view from my front door: Believe it or not there is a mountain behind that grey sky! I live in British Columbia, Canada which is just one of the most beautiful places on earth, but I have to say that January is not the most inspiring month unless you are an avid winter sports person and your view is from the top of the mountain. My current position being at the bottom of the mountain, I turn away from the door and start thinking about Spring again. Last night I thought I would start...

Spring 2012-Using Your Color Palette
Read more →Hopefully you've been following along with our Spring Wardrobe Planning. You can go back and read the previous posts if you like, we're not too far along so it will be easy to catch up. Today, I want to talk about how to use the color palette we put together. In the fashion industry we use what is called a "story board" to keep us focused on the feel and look that we are trying to accomplish for any given season. This story board is kind of a record of what we want to accomplish. This is not to say...
